Over the next month Vagabond Warrior is going an a virtual journey with a series of travel features focused on Nashville to Asheville. This series will be tied into other feature articles on my partner site ‘Adele Belle‘ as we ramble down I-40 and beyond from Nashville and Tennessee time, east to the Blue Ridge Mountain life of Asheville NC.
Born in NC, I am an adopted Tennessean, having attended Belmont University in Nashville. I love history, music, arts and culture – the road from Nashville TN to Asheville NC is a path steeped in a rich past, diverse present, extraordinary scenery, forgotten back roads, lost vistas waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re following roots music trail of the haunts of the Grand Ole Opry at the holy Ryman Auditorium, getting down to a honkytonk beat at Tootsies, touring antebellum mansions to log cabins – retracing The Civil War, finding solace and paying tribute in the lands of the Cherokee by a mountain stream in the Smokies – the travel possibilities of the Nashville to Asheville road are endless.
In the coming weeks we will dive into Nashville’s history, culture and hot spots before trekking east mile by mile…I hope you come along for the ride.
